Eremophila alternifolia is one of the more widely distributed species, found across Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland, and New South Wales. The plant produces tubular flowers — typically pink, lilac, or red — and small, aromatic leaves with a delicate, herbal, and earthy character. "Emu Bush" is the common name shared by many species within the genus Eremophila — a large group of flowering shrubs and small trees that are almost entirely endemic to Australia.
