Australian Bee Pollen Granules — Western Australia

Australian Bee Pollen Granules — collected by honeybees foraging across the diverse floral environments of Western Australia. Bee pollen is the granular material formed when bees collect pollen from flowers and pack it with nectar and enzymes into the small pellets they carry back to the hive as a protein and nutrient source. It has a characteristic slightly sweet, earthy flavour with a natural floral aroma that reflects the diversity of flowering plants the bees visited — WA's botanically extraordinary landscape means this pollen draws from one of the most florally diverse environments on earth, including a wide range of endemic Australian species. The granules have a soft, slightly chewy texture and a pleasant, approachable flavour.

Sourced from sustainably managed beehives. Freeze-treated for shelf stability. Packaged in biodegradable, food-grade materials. Available in 250g, 500g, 1kg, and 5kg bulk. This product is sold as a food only.

⚠ Allergy Warning: Bee pollen can cause severe allergic reactions — including anaphylaxis — in individuals sensitised to pollen or bee products. If you have a history of pollen allergy, hay fever, asthma, or bee sting allergy, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use. Start with a very small amount (1–2 granules) to test tolerance before increasing quantity. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without professional guidance. Keep out of reach of children with known allergies. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Australian Bee Pollen — FAQs

Everything you need to know before you order.

Bee pollen is produced when foraging honeybees collect pollen from flowers and combine it with nectar and their own salivary enzymes to form the small, compact pellets they carry back to the hive in specialised structures on their hind legs called pollen baskets. These pellets are the primary protein source for the hive — used to feed developing larvae. Beekeepers collect a portion of the pollen at the hive entrance using pollen traps, then dry and package it. The resulting granules vary in colour, size, and flavour depending on which flowers the bees were foraging from. Western Australian bee pollen draws from one of the world's most botanically diverse and pristine floral landscapes, including a significant proportion of endemic Australian species.
Bee pollen is contraindicated for several groups. People with pollen allergies, hay fever, or asthma — bee pollen contains concentrated pollen and can trigger severe allergic reactions including anaphylaxis in sensitised individuals. People with bee sting or bee product allergies — cross-reactivity is possible. Pregnant and breastfeeding women — safety has not been established; avoid without professional guidance. Children with known allergies — high risk of reaction. Even individuals without known allergies should start with 1–2 granules and wait 24 hours before increasing — allergy can develop with first exposure. If any signs of allergic reaction occur (hives, throat tightening, difficulty breathing), stop immediately and seek emergency medical attention. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
Always start with 1–2 granules on first use to test tolerance, then gradually increase over several days as tolerated. Once tolerance is established, a typical serving is 1–2 teaspoons daily. Cold applications only — heat degrades the natural enzymes and heat-sensitive compounds; do not add to hot drinks or cooked dishes. Sprinkle over smoothie bowls, yoghurt, or cereal; blend directly into cold smoothies; mix into overnight oats or cold dressings. The granules have a pleasant, slightly chewy texture and floral-sweet flavour that works well as a finishing topping without being processed into the base food.
Western Australia has one of the most botanically diverse and ecologically intact floral landscapes on earth — the south-west of the state in particular is a globally recognised biodiversity hotspot with thousands of endemic flowering plant species found nowhere else. Bees foraging in this environment collect pollen from an exceptionally wide range of native Australian flora, including many Banksia, Eucalyptus, Grevillea, Hakea, and wildflower species, as well as agricultural crops. This diversity is reflected in the varied colour and complex flavour profile of WA bee pollen — and the relatively pristine, chemical-free nature of much of WA's bushland means the bees are foraging in environments largely free from agricultural chemical exposure.
Store in a sealed, airtight container below 23°C in a dark location — refrigeration is recommended for long-term storage and will significantly extend freshness and preserve the natural enzyme activity of the pollen. Avoid moisture exposure — bee pollen is hygroscopic and will absorb ambient moisture, which can cause clumping and accelerate degradation. When stored correctly, shelf life is 2+ years. For bulk wholesale quantities, keep sealed and refrigerated until ready to repack or use.
Australian Bee Pollen Granules are available in 250g, 500g, 1kg, and 5kg bulk packs. The 5kg is bulk packed, not individual units. We ship Australia-wide from our Gold Coast warehouse. For wholesale supply enquiries, contact us at sales@herbalconnection.com.au or (07) 5451 8780.
