Certified Organic Rosehip Granules — Rosa canina, Albania, 2–3mm

Certified Organic Rosehip Granules (Rosa canina) — sifted to a consistent 2–3mm particle size from certified organic Albanian wild-harvested rosehip, making this the premium certified organic choice for tea bag filling and precision herbal blend applications. Albania's highland regions are home to abundant wild populations of Rosa canina (Dog Rose), and the country has become one of Europe's most significant sources of certified organic rosehip for the herbal tea and natural food markets. The 2–3mm TBC (tea bag cut) particle size is specifically suited for tea bag filling — consistent enough to flow and fill evenly in automated tea bag machinery, fine enough to extract quickly and fully, and coarse enough to be retained by standard bag material without sifting through.

The flavour is the classic rosehip character: tart, bright, and fruity — reminiscent of cranberry or sharp apple with a warm floral undertone — and the colour brews to a vivid reddish-orange. Certified organic from Albania. No known allergens. Naturally caffeine-free. Available in 250g, 500g, 1kg, and 5kg bulk. This product is sold as a food only.

Certified Organic Rosehip Granules — FAQs

Everything you need to know before you order.

TBC stands for Tea Bag Cut — an industry standard grading term for dried botanicals that have been cut and sifted to a specific, consistent particle size range suitable for tea bag filling machinery. The 2–3mm specification means the granules have been sifted through screens to retain particles between 2 and 3mm in size, removing both the finer dust below 2mm and the larger coarser pieces above 3mm. This level of consistency matters for tea bag production: particles that are too fine can sift through the bag material and block machinery; particles that are too coarse can clog bag filling heads and produce uneven fill weights. A consistent 2–3mm TBC cut flows reliably through automated tea bag machinery and fills evenly in both pyramid and flat bag formats.
The key differences are certification, origin, particle size consistency, and price. The Certified Organic Rosehip TBC 2–3mm (HTO.RHKTBCK1) — this product — is certified organic, sourced from Albania, and sifted to a consistent 2–3mm TBC specification for tea bag filling applications. The Conventional Rosehip Granules (HT.RHK1) are sourced from Chile, are not organically certified, and are a general granule format without the specific 2–3mm TBC specification. For buyers producing certified organic labelled tea bags and herbal products, the organic Albanian product is the appropriate choice. For buyers where organic certification is not required and cost is a priority, the conventional Chilean granules are the more accessible option. Both produce the same characteristic tart rosehip flavour and reddish-orange colour.
Use 1–2 teaspoons per cup in a tea infuser or tea bag. Pour water at 90–95°C (just off the boil) and steep for 5–10 minutes. The fine 2–3mm particle size extracts quickly — a 5-minute steep produces a well-coloured, flavourful cup. Strain and sweeten with honey if desired. Rosehip is naturally quite tart — light sweetening suits most palates. For iced tea, brew at double strength, cool, sweeten while warm, and pour over ice. The reddish-orange colour is particularly striking when served cold in a clear glass. Rosehip pairs naturally in blends with hibiscus, apple peel, elderberry, orange peel, cinnamon, and chamomile.
Albania has become one of Europe's most significant producers of certified organic rosehip for the international herbal market, for several reasons. The country's highland and mountain regions support extensive wild populations of Rosa canina — Albania has one of the lowest pesticide usage rates in European agriculture, and large areas of highland where wild rose grows are effectively pesticide-free by default. This makes certification of wild-harvested Albanian rosehip both practical and credible. Albania's EU candidacy status and improving food safety standards have also supported the development of audited, certified supply chains suitable for the European and Australian organic product markets. The combination of pristine highland growing conditions, high wild-harvest abundance, and available organic certification infrastructure makes Albanian rosehip a premium and trusted organic source.
The HC rosehip range covers multiple formats. Rosehip TBC 2–3mm Organic (this product) — certified organic, Albanian, precision tea bag cut. Rosehip Shell Cut (HT.RHSCK1) — conventional, Chilean, coarser pieces (outer shell, seeds removed) for loose-leaf brewing. Rosehip Granules (HT.RHK1) — conventional, Chilean, general granule format.
