Certified Organic Eucalyptus Leaf (Eucalyptus globulus) — cut and sieved dried leaf. Eucalyptus globulus, the Blue Gum Eucalyptus, is native to southeastern Australia and is one of the most widely planted and commercially important eucalyptus species in the world. While synonymous with Australian flora and the koala's primary food source, it is now cultivated extensively in Spain, Portugal, and South America for the commercial eucalyptus oil and herbal tea trade — making organically certified supply from these regions a practical reality.

The dried leaf has the immediately recognisable bold, fresh, camphorous aroma that defines eucalyptus as a botanical — clear, cooling, and intensely aromatic. This makes it one of the most easily identified ingredients in a tea blend by aroma alone. As a tea ingredient, the flavour is strong and menthol-eucalyptus — a small inclusion at 5–15% of a blend is typically sufficient to deliver a clear eucalyptus note. It pairs naturally with peppermint, spearmint, ginger, and other aromatic herbs in winter-season and cooling botanical blends. Cut and sieved to 3–8mm tea-grade specification. Eucalyptus leaf tea has a bold, fresh, camphorous aroma and a cooling menthol-eucalyptus flavour — unmistakable and immediately recognisable. It is one of the most distinctive and aromatic botanicals in the tea blending range. The flavour is strong and medicinal-clean rather than floral or sweet. As a solo tea it is intense; most blenders use it at 5–15% of total blend weight as a flavour accent rather than a primary ingredient. It pairs exceptionally well with peppermint, spearmint, and ginger, where the eucalyptus adds a cooling aromatic depth to the overall blend profile.
Because eucalyptus is so strongly aromatic, it is typically used at low inclusion rates — 5–15% of total blend weight is the general working range for most applications. At 5–8% it adds a background eucalyptus note without dominating. At 10–15% it becomes a clearly identifiable eucalyptus-forward character in the blend. Above 15% it tends to dominate completely — which may be the intention for a dedicated eucalyptus tea, but requires careful calibration. Start at the low end when developing a new blend and adjust. The 3–8mm cut size integrates well into loose leaf and pyramid tea bag formats without the leaf pieces being visually overwhelming in the blend.
The aromatic compounds in eucalyptus leaf — primarily cineole (eucalyptol) — are highly volatile and dissipate with repeated exposure to air. Store in a sealed, airtight container below 23°C away from light and heat. Reseal immediately after each use rather than leaving the container open. For larger bulk quantities, decant into smaller airtight portions rather than repeatedly accessing a large container. Under correct sealed storage, the aromatic potency is well maintained for 2+ years. Faded or weak-smelling eucalyptus leaf indicates either poor quality or poor storage — good eucalyptus should be immediately and powerfully aromatic when the container is first opened.
