Epilobium Herb Organic — Epilobium angustifolium, Europe
Certified Organic Epilobium Herb (Epilobium angustifolium) — commonly known as Willow Herb or Fireweed — cut and sieved dried aerial herb, sourced from European growing regions. Epilobium angustifolium is a tall, flowering perennial herb widespread across temperate regions of Europe, Asia, and North America. It is recognisable by its tall spikes of vivid pink-purple flowers and its narrow, willow-like leaves — the source of its common name Willow Herb. The plant grows abundantly in disturbed soils and cleared woodland areas, where it is often among the first species to establish after fire events, giving rise to its North American common name Fireweed.
The dried herb has a mild, gently grassy and slightly earthy flavour with a subtle floral note — not strongly aromatic, but integrating cleanly into botanical tea blends without competing with more assertive ingredients. Used in loose leaf tea manufacturing, botanical blend formulations, and herbal product applications across Europe and Australia. Cut and sieved to standard 3–8mm tea-grade specification. Certified Organic (SCX No. 24041). Freeze-treated. 100% organic dried epilobium aerial herb — no additives. This product is sold as a food only. A conventional (non-organic) grade is also available as a separate variant.

Epilobium angustifolium, commonly called Willow Herb or Fireweed, is a tall flowering perennial herb widespread across Europe, northern Asia, and North America. It grows particularly abundantly in disturbed soils and post-fire landscapes — it is well known as one of the first plants to colonise areas after bushfires, which explains its Fireweed common name. The name Willow Herb refers to the plant's narrow, willow-shaped leaves. This certified organic grade is sourced from European growing regions and covered under SCX Organic Certification No. 24041. The dried aerial herb — leaves and stem — is cut and sieved to a standard 3–8mm tea-grade specification.
Epilobium has a mild, gently grassy and slightly earthy flavour with a subtle floral note. It is not strongly aromatic and does not have a dominant or assertive character — this makes it a useful supporting ingredient in herbal blends rather than a primary flavour driver. It integrates cleanly with other botanicals without competing. Brewed as a tea at 1–2 teaspoons per cup in hot water, it produces a pale, lightly coloured liquor with a gentle, clean grassy character. It is used in European herbal tea formulations and blends with other mild herbs. The 3–8mm cut size is suitable for both loose leaf and pyramid tea bag applications.
This organic grade (HTO.EPILK1) is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilisers and is certified under The Herbal Connection's SCX Organic Certification No. 24041. This makes it suitable for use in certified organic finished products where full traceability through an audited supply chain is required. Documentation is available on request. A conventional (non-organic) grade (HT.EPILK1) is also available as a separate variant at a lower price point for buyers who do not require organic certification in their finished product.
Store below 23°C in a sealed, airtight container away from direct light and moisture. Cut herb is more susceptible to moisture uptake than whole herb — ensure the container is properly sealed after each use. Under correct storage conditions the herb retains its colour, aroma, and quality for 2+ years. The product has been freeze-treated prior to packing to reduce the risk of insect contamination.
