What is lymphatic tea, and what is in Lymphatic Flow Tea?
"Lymphatic tea" is a name people use for herbal tea blends made from herbs that are traditionally used in herbal teas. Ours contains cleavers or clivers (Galium aparine), burdock root (Arctium lappa), red clover (Trifolium pratense), dandelion leaf (Taraxacum officinale), spearmint (Mentha spicata), ginger root (Zingiber officinale) and calendula petals (Calendula officinalis). It is a food-grade dried herbal blend, not a supplement or medicine.
Does lymphatic drainage tea work?
A cup of herbal tea cannot "drain" or "cleanse" your lymphatic system, and we don't claim that Lymphatic Flow Tea does. Your lymphatic system works on its own. Many people simply enjoy a warm herbal tea made from herbs with a long history of traditional use as part of a daily routine, alongside drinking enough water and staying active. Scientific research on these herbs is limited, and this tea is sold as a food. If you have swelling or other symptoms that worry you, please see a doctor or healthcare professional.
What does each herb bring to the blend?
Cleavers is a soft, green leafy herb long used in traditional herbal teas. Burdock root adds an earthy, slightly sweet base. Red clover brings a mild, hay-like sweetness, and dandelion leaf adds a fresh, slightly bitter green note. Spearmint gives the blend its fresh lift, ginger adds warmth, and calendula petals add colour and a gentle floral touch. All of these herbs are traditionally used in herbal teas, and each is listed on this page.
How do I make lymphatic tea?
Add 1-2 teaspoons of Lymphatic Flow Tea to a teapot or infuser for each cup, pour over freshly boiled water and steep, covered, for 5-10 minutes. Strain and drink warm, with honey or lemon if you like. Adjust the amount and steeping time to suit your taste.
Is it safe to drink every day? Are there side effects?
Herbal teas are not right for everyone. If you are pregnant, trying to conceive, breastfeeding, have a hormone-sensitive condition, take medication (including blood thinners, diuretics, lithium or diabetes medicines) or have a medical condition, check with your doctor, midwife or pharmacist first. Red clover contains plant compounds that can act like oestrogen, and burdock, dandelion and calendula are all in the daisy family (Asteraceae), so ask a healthcare professional if you are sensitive to daisies or ragweed. Ginger may contain naturally occurring sulphites. Keep dried herbs away from pets and ask a vet if you have questions.
Does lymphatic flow tea contain caffeine?
No. Lymphatic Flow Tea contains no tea leaves from the Camellia sinensis plant, only herbs, roots, flowers and ginger, so it is naturally caffeine free and suits any time of day.
Is Lymphatic Flow Tea organic?
The blend is made with organic ingredients, but it is not sold as a certified organic blend. The Herbal Connection is an SXC Certified Organic Processor (No. 24041). We state this carefully because "contains organic ingredients" and "certified organic blend" are different claims.
Where can I buy lymphatic tea in Australia?
You can buy Lymphatic Flow Tea here in 250g, 500g or 1kg packs, shipped Australia-wide from our Gold Coast warehouse. Wholesale customers can also order the
5kg bulk carton.
Can I get it as tea bags, in bulk or under my own label?
