Hercules Tea Organic — FAQs

Everything you need to know before you order.

Damiana (Turnera diffusa) is a small, aromatic shrub native to Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. It has been used as a traditional herbal remedy by indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica for centuries and was introduced to European herbal medicine in the 19th century. It has a pleasant, slightly bitter and aromatic flavour with a mild herbal character. In traditional men's herbalism, it has long been associated with vitality and general wellbeing.
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is one of the most important herbs in Ayurvedic tradition, where it has been used for over 3,000 years. It belongs to a category of plants known as adaptogens — botanicals traditionally used to help the body maintain balance during periods of stress or change. It has a mildly earthy, slightly bitter flavour and is particularly associated in Ayurvedic tradition with male vitality, strength, and energy.
Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna and related species) is a thorny shrub native to Europe, North Africa, and West Asia whose berries, leaves, and flowers have been used in herbal medicine since antiquity. In Western herbal practice, hawthorn is one of the most well-regarded botanicals for cardiovascular support, with a history of use stretching back to ancient Greece. It contributes a mildly sweet, slightly tart fruity flavour and a deep, rosy colour to blended teas.
Ginkgo biloba is one of the oldest living tree species on Earth, sometimes called a "living fossil." Its fan-shaped leaves have been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries, associated with circulatory support, mental clarity, and general vitality. It has a mild, slightly bitter flavour and is one of the most widely researched herbal botanicals in the world, featuring in both Eastern and Western herbal traditions.
Yes — Goji Berries contain naturally occurring sulphites at approximately 10mg/kg. Sulphites are one of the 14 major food allergens declared under Australian food standards. If you or your customers have a sulphite sensitivity, please take note. The Herbal Connection makes no allergen-free claims and notes that trace elements from farming practices may also be present.
Yes — Ceylon Tea (Camellia sinensis) is a black tea and naturally caffeinated. The remaining six botanicals contain no caffeine. The caffeine level will be moderate — in line with a standard cup of black tea, depending on steeping time. This blend is not suitable for those avoiding caffeine entirely.
Add one tablespoon to a teapot or infuser — this is a generous blend with whole berries and root pieces that benefit from the larger measure. Pour freshly boiled water over the blend and steep for 5 minutes. Strain into your cup and enjoy. The Ceylon tea base gives a robust, full-bodied character that holds the botanical additions well. Store below 23°C in a dark, airtight container.
Hercules Tea Organic is available in 250g, 500g, 1kg, and 5kg bulk packs. The 5kg option is a bulk pack, not individual units. For larger volumes, contract blending, or private label enquiries, please contact our office directly. We ship Australia-wide from our Gold Coast warehouse.
