Directions of Use

This root is traditionally used to create a poultice, infused oil, or salve.
1. For a Poultice: Grind the root into a powder and mix with a small amount of hot water to form a thick paste.
2. Allow the paste to cool to a safe temperature.
3. Apply the paste to the desired area over intact skin only. Do not apply to broken skin or open wounds.
4. For an Infused Oil: Cover the dried, cut root with a carrier oil (like olive or almond oil) in a jar and let it steep in a cool, dark place for 4-6 weeks.
5. Strain the oil and store it for use in salves or balms.
