About
Our Senna Leaves Organic are certified organic dried senna leaves (Senna alexandrina) from India, supplied as a cut leaf in 250g, 500g and 1kg packs, with bulk and wholesale quantities available. Senna is a well-known traditional herb, widely recognised as a strong, stimulating one, and it is usually prepared as a simple herbal tea. It is a potent herb, so please read the directions and cautions below before use. This product is sold as a food only.
As always, it's advisable to consult with healthcare professionals for personalised guidance on health concerns.
Directions of Use
*** A very potent herb. Read all cautions before use. ***
1. Start small: use ½ to 1 level teaspoon per cup (250ml).
2. Add water: pour over hot (not boiling) water.
3. Do not over-steep: infuse for 5-10 minutes at most. Longer steeping makes the tea stronger and may lead to cramping.
4. Strain and drink: many people take it in the evening, as senna is traditionally taken some hours before its effects are expected.
5. Safety: for short-term use only (no more than 7 consecutive days). Do not use if pregnant, breastfeeding, or if you have a digestive condition such as IBS or Crohn's disease. Speak with a healthcare professional before use.
