Organic Golden Glow — an in-house superfood blend from The Herbal Connection, formulated around five certified organic ingredients and designed for daily smoothie use. This is not a latte blend or a spice mix — it is a nutritionally intentional powder built around three themes: natural vitamin C from Camu Camu, prebiotic fibre from Green Banana, and natural low-GI sweetness and flavour from Lucuma, with Turmeric and Black Pepper rounding out the blend. The result is a versatile, daily-use superfood powder that blends cleanly into smoothies and adds meaningful food-ingredient credentials to any formulation without requiring multiple separate ingredients.
The blend has a naturally golden-yellow colour from the turmeric — not overwhelming in the cup but visually present. The dominant flavour notes are the warm caramel-maple character of lucuma and the bright, tart edge of camu camu, with turmeric adding a mild earthy warmth in the background. The green banana powder is functionally significant as a prebiotic fibre source — it contains resistant starch that feeds beneficial gut bacteria — but contributes minimal flavour at normal inclusion rates, making it a clean-label fibre addition that works invisibly in a blend. Lucuma Powder Organic
Pouteria lucuma — Peru. Natural low-GI sweetener (GI ~25) with warm caramel and maple flavour notes. The primary flavour driver of the blend and a natural sweetness source without refined sugar.
Camu Camu Organic Powder
Myrciaria dubia — Peruvian Amazon, wild-harvested. One of the most concentrated natural vitamin C sources available — up to 3,000mg per 100g of fresh fruit. Adds bright, tart citrus character and natural vitamin C credentials to the blend.
Green Banana Powder Organic
Musa acuminata — unripe banana, dried and milled. Rich in resistant starch — a prebiotic dietary fibre that reaches the large intestine intact and feeds beneficial gut bacteria. Mild, almost neutral flavour at standard inclusion rates.
Turmeric Ground Organic
Curcuma longa — dried ground root. Contributes the characteristic golden-yellow colour and mild earthy warmth of the blend. Paired intentionally with black pepper to maximise curcumin bioavailability.
Peppercorns Black Ground Organic
Piper nigrum — ground black pepper. Piperine in black pepper significantly increases the bioavailability of curcumin from turmeric — a well-established food science interaction. Present at a low inclusion rate for function, not heat.
