Flu Fighter Organic Tea — FAQs

Everything you need to know before you order.

Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea and related species) is a flowering plant native to North America, used for centuries by various Indigenous North American peoples before becoming one of the most studied and widely used herbs in Western herbalism. It was adopted into European herbal medicine in the late 19th century and is now one of the most commonly consumed herbal botanicals in the world. It has a mild, slightly earthy flavour with a distinctive tingling sensation on the tongue from its active alkylamide content.
Olive Leaf (Olea europaea) is the dried leaf of the olive tree, one of the most ancient cultivated trees in the Mediterranean region. While the olive fruit and oil have been consumed for millennia, the leaves have their own long history of use in traditional Mediterranean herbal medicine. Rich in the polyphenol oleuropein, olive leaf has been used in folk medicine across North Africa, the Middle East, and Southern Europe, traditionally associated with vitality and general wellness. It has a mildly bitter, herbal flavour.
Yes — both come from the same plant, Sambucus nigra (the European elder). Elderflower refers to the fragrant white blossoms, harvested in spring; they have a delicate, honey-sweet floral flavour and aroma. Elderberries are the dark purple-black berries that follow the flowers in late summer; they have a tart, fruity flavour and a deep colour. Both have been used extensively in European folk medicine for centuries, particularly in winter wellness traditions, and together they contribute contrasting flavour notes — floral and fruity — to this blend.
Yes — Ginger contains naturally occurring sulphites. Sulphites are one of the 14 major food allergens declared under Australian food standards. If you or your customers have a sulphite sensitivity, please take note before ordering. The Herbal Connection makes no allergen-free claims and notes that trace elements from farming practices may also be present.
Yes — completely. None of the seven botanicals in this blend are derived from the Camellia sinensis plant. Flu Fighter Organic Tea is naturally caffeine-free and suitable for any time of day.
Yes — all seven ingredients are certified organic. The blend is produced in Australia from local and imported certified organic botanicals by The Herbal Connection, a Certified Organic business operating from our 5-Star Eat Safe licensed facility on the Gold Coast.
Add one heaped teaspoon to a teapot or infuser. Pour freshly boiled water over the blend and steep for 5–7 minutes — the ginger root, rosehips, and echinacea benefit from a longer steep to release their full character. Strain and enjoy. The blend has a warming, slightly spiced character with fruity tartness from the elderberries and rosehips. Store below 23°C in a dark, airtight container.
Flu Fighter Organic Tea is available in 250g, 500g, 1kg, and 5kg bulk packs. The 5kg option is a bulk pack, not individual units. For larger volumes, contract blending, or private label enquiries, please contact our office directly. We ship Australia-wide from our Gold Coast warehouse.
