Organic Chamomile Tea Bags - FAQs
Quick answers about our bulk organic chamomile tea bags
Looking for organic chamomile tea bags in bulk? This 100 pack holds certified organic chamomile flowers in biodegradable and compostable tea bags.
What are Organic Chamomile Tea Bags made from?
Each tea bag holds certified organic chamomile flowers (Matricaria chamomilla) and nothing else. The bags are made from biodegradable and compostable material, and a pack contains 100 tea bags. If you prefer to brew it loose, see our Chamomile Organic loose leaf.
How do I make chamomile tea with a tea bag?
Place one tea bag in a cup, pour over freshly boiled water, cover and steep for 5-7 minutes. Remove the bag, give it a gentle squeeze and enjoy it warm.
How long should I let a chamomile tea bag steep?
Most people steep chamomile for 5-7 minutes. A shorter steep gives a lighter cup, and a longer steep gives a stronger, more floral flavour. You can leave the bag in while you drink if you like it strong, though it may taste a little more bitter.
Can I use a chamomile tea bag twice?
Yes. A second steep will be lighter in flavour than the first, but many people enjoy it as a milder cup. For the fullest flavour, use a fresh tea bag each time.
What does chamomile tea taste like?
Chamomile has a gentle, slightly sweet and floral flavour with notes of apple and hay. It is a mild, soft cup that many people enjoy in the evening.
Does chamomile tea contain caffeine?
No. Chamomile is a herbal tea made from flowers, with no tea leaf, so it is naturally caffeine free and suits any time of day.
Is chamomile tea good for sleep and relaxing?
Chamomile has a long history of traditional use as a calming, soothing evening drink, and many people enjoy a warm cup before bed. This tea is sold as a food and we don't make health claims for it. If you have trouble sleeping, speak with your healthcare professional.
Who should check with a healthcare professional first?
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication (including blood thinners or sedatives), have a health condition, or are allergic to plants in the daisy family (such as ragweed), check with your healthcare professional before drinking chamomile regularly.
Are these tea bags certified organic, and biodegradable and compostable?
Yes to both. The chamomile is certified organic, and The Herbal Connection is an SXC Certified Organic Processor (No. 24041) and HACCP certified. The tea bags are made from biodegradable and compostable material, so you can compost the used bag after steeping. The chamomile is sourced from Croatia, Egypt and India and packed in Australia.
