Orange peel is one of the most versatile and widely used dried citrus botanicals in food, tea, and distillery applications — the outer zest layer of the orange contains a high concentration of aromatic essential oils (predominantly d-limonene) responsible for the bright, vivid, immediately recognisable sweet orange character that differs markedly from the flat, dull character of orange flavouring.
