What is in Flu Fighter Organic tea bags?
Each tea bag holds a herbal blend of ginger root, olive leaf, rosehips, echinacea herb, elderflower, elderberries and peppercorns, and all seven are certified organic ingredients. The bags are made from biodegradable and compostable material, and a pack contains 100 tea bags. If you prefer to brew it loose, see our Flu Fighter Organic loose leaf.
How do I make Flu Fighter herbal tea?
Place one tea bag in a cup or teapot, pour over freshly boiled water, cover and steep for 5-10 minutes. Remove the bag, give it a gentle squeeze and enjoy it hot, with a slice of lemon or a little honey if you like.
What does Flu Fighter tea taste like?
It is a warming, spicy tea. Ginger and peppercorns give it a gentle kick, elderberries and rosehips add a fruity tartness, elderflower adds a soft floral note, and olive leaf and echinacea round it out with an earthy, herbal depth.
Does Flu Fighter tea contain caffeine?
No. The blend is made only from herbs, flowers, berries and spice, with no tea leaf, so it is naturally caffeine free and suits any time of day.
Does Flu Fighter tea prevent or treat colds and flu?
"Flu Fighter" is the name of this blend, not a health claim. This tea is sold as a food, and we don't claim it prevents, treats or relieves colds, flu or any other condition. If you are unwell, please see your healthcare professional.
What are the herbs in this blend traditionally used for?
Ginger, elderflower and elderberries are popular in warming herbal teas, rosehips add a fruity tartness, and echinacea and olive leaf have a long history of use in traditional herbal teas. We don't make health claims for this product.
Who should check with a healthcare professional first?
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication (including blood thinners, blood pressure, diabetes or immune-related medication), or have a health condition (including an autoimmune condition), check with your healthcare professional before drinking this tea regularly. Echinacea, olive leaf and ginger are the ones to ask about. If you are allergic to plants in the daisy family (such as ragweed), check first as well.
Are these tea bags made with organic ingredients, and are they biodegradable and compostable?
All seven herbs are certified organic ingredients, and The Herbal Connection is an SXC Certified Organic Processor (No. 24041) and HACCP certified. The tea bags are made from biodegradable and compostable material, so you can compost the used bag after steeping. The blend is blended and packed in Australia from local and imported ingredients.
